Job Summary

CAI is seeking an experienced HVAC Commissioning Lead to support the planning and execution of commissioning activities for mission critical facilities including life sciences semi-conductor and manufacturing facilities. This role will lead all aspects of mechanical system commissioning ensuring systems are installed tested and operate in accordance with design intent and client ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in HVAC systems leadership experience in the field and the ability to manage commissioning efforts across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute HVAC commissioning activities across all project phases (design construction testing and turnover)
  • Develop and review commissioning plans test procedures MOPs SOOs and checklists
  • Oversee functional performance testing (FPT) and integrated systems testing (IST)
  • Perform design reviews to ensure alignment with Basis of Design (BOD) and Owner Project Requirements (OPR)
  • Coordinate with contractors vendors and client stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections of HVAC equipment installations and startup activities
  • Troubleshoot system deficiencies and support resolution efforts
  • Lead site activities including scheduling execution and reporting
  • Provide daily/weekly commissioning reports and updates to project leadership
  • Support and enforce site safety standards and best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5 years of HVAC commissioning experience preferably in mission critical environments
  • Strong understanding of mechanical system design
  • Experience with commissioning processes testing methodologies and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings P&IDs and specifications
  • Familiarity with BAS/BMS systems and controls integration
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CxA CCP LEED or PE
  • Experience with tools such as CxAlloy Bluebeam Procore or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of TAB processes and mechanical trend analysis

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 75% (project dependent)
  • Must be willing to work in active construction environments
