As Coordinator Sustainability Engagement you will oversee and lead the sustainability Engagement team to achieve improved environmental and sustainability outcomes.
What youll be doing:
- Provide leadership for the Sustainability Engagement team fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Create and maintain a team culture where individual members are valued and recognised for their diverse skill sets provide proactive and constructive input in team meetings and keep team members informed of relevant issues impacting them or their work and share best practice learning.
- Coordinate the preparation of Council reports briefings submissions and correspondence.
- Coordinate the development implementation evaluation and review of strategies and policies including the Live Green Plan and Land & Biodiversity Plan.
- Lead the development implementation and evaluation of key sustainability engagement projects and programs such as the Rural Engagement Program Gardens for Wildlife Schools Sustainability Engagement and Enviro Champions.
- Research prepare and complete reports on complex environmental sustainability issues and make recommendations.
- Provide technical advice and direction to the organisation in relation to meeting relevant government strategies policies and objectives for environmental sustainability.
- Provide support for existing and emerging Community Groups and individuals within the Hume community to take effective action on environmental sustainability issues.
- Oversee the development and implementation of behaviour change programs that build the capacity of the Hume community to live more sustainably.
The skills and experience youll bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience.
- Proven ability to develop and implement sustainability strategies while effectively engaging diverse stakeholders to promote environmental responsibility
- Highly developed analytical and strategic skills with proven experience in leading change.
- Demonstrated financial people and project management skills.
- Sound knowledge of the environmental sustainability sector in a local government context.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare reports briefings submissions and relevant correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to develop implement and evaluate strategies policies guidelines programs and projects.
- Sound computer literacy skills
- Current drivers licence.
