Job Summary

This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence near Bridgwater with relocation support available where needed.
You will support construction activities by responding to electrical engineering queries from site teams as well as assess technical issues produce calculations and ensure design intent is maintained.

Respond to site electrical queries with structured technical assessments
Perform calculations including cable sizing supports and electrical loads
Ensure design changes redlines and open points are controlled properly
Identify and escalate technical risks and unresolved engineering issues
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to manage cross-discipline impacts
Contribute to closure of design open points after package delivery
Report progress and issues to Electrical Discipline Manager regularly
Capture lessons learned to improve future engineering delivery
Support construction teams while maintaining design compliance standards

 


Qualifications :

Nuclear experience is not essential but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further we would strongly encourage you to apply

Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline
Experience in cable sizing and electrical system calculations
Knowledge of transformers switchboards and electrical installations
Understanding of electrical networks earthing and protection systems
Ability to produce clear structured technical documentation
Experience managing workload to meet strict project deadlines
Familiarity working within multidisciplinary engineering environments
Experience supporting construction or site-based engineering activities
