Job Summary
The Registered Nurse Recovery / PACU is responsible for providing post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. This role involves close monitoring assessment and management of patients as they transition from anesthesia to stable recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Monitor patients post-procedure for anesthesia recovery and complications
- Assess vital signs airway status and level of consciousness
- Administer medications and manage pain control
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Clinical Operations
- Ensure safe recovery and discharge readiness of patients
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Follow post-operative care protocols and safety standards
Collaboration
- Work closely with surgeons anesthesiologists and perioperative teams
- Communicate patient status and care plans effectively
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Recovery / PACU or relevant acute care experience
- AHA Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PACU or surgical recovery settings
- Acute Care RN with hospital experience
- Experience working with surgical cases
