ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT


The Sustainable Supply Chain Unit (SSC) is working on minimizing the potential negative environmental impact of WFP supply chain interventions while ensuring that its operations are adaptive and resilient against the effects of climate change.
SSC focuses on streamlining sustainability considerations in the design of WFP supply chains strategies and operations in alignment with the WFP Environmental Policy and the broader Strategy for Sustainability Management in the UN System 2020-2030.

JOB PURPOSE

Support the Sustainable Supply Chain team to manage the communication and knowledge management content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive nor exhaustive)

  • Support the development and maintenance of internal knowledge repositories to ensure keyinformation best practices and lessons learned are well-organized and accessible.

  • Assist in refining data organization systems and structuring information to enhance usability forinternal and external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the preparation of reports briefs and other materials that synthesize insights andkey learnings in a clear and engaging manner.

  • Support the creation of visually compelling and well-structured documents to facilitate knowledgesharing and collaboration.

  • Assist in gathering and curating content that highlights key initiatives fostering engagement andexchange across teams and partners.

  • Support the planning and execution of communications campaigns and strategies includingresearch writing content and creating one-pagers newsletters video scripts articles andsupporting the workshops and events.

  • Assist with creating content for editing and maintaining knowledge management platformsincluding coordinating with other divisions for inter-divisional sustainability knowledgemanagement.

  • Create posts on internal social networks such as Yammer and monitor communications andengagement trends.

  • Perform other communications duties as required within SSC.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Outlook Excel).

  • Outstanding writing skills with experience writing and editing blogs articles reports social mediacopy.

  • Knowledge management best practices.

  • Experience with using open-source programmes ex: Canva.

  • Experience in using Tableau server is an advantage.

  • Basic to intermediate graphic design skills is an advantage

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme from a recognized university in Communications Journalism Public relations or International Relations degree or related field.

Language: Fluency (level C) in English language written spoken and oral comprehension. Intermediate knowledge of another WFP official language (Arabic Chinese English French Russian Spanish or WFPs working language Portuguese) is desirable.
