Job Description:

Major Job Responsibilities:

Business Partnership / Customer Service

  • Collaborate and work proactively with business leaders including seniorleaders in the areas of annual workforce planning succession planning talent management and leadership coaching.

  • Partner closely with the Centers of Excellences to implement human resources strategies practices processes and programs thatalign tostrategic goals and business priorities.

  • Be recognized as a trusted business partner to the Finning leadershipteamand provide council on HR workforce and leadership matters and issues.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of Finnings business to more effectively support business leaders.

  • Ensure compliance and provide guidance related to regulatory requirements.

Labor Relations / Employee Relations

  • Coach and advise front-line managers in the interpretation and application ofapplicableCollective Agreementsand/orother relatedCorporatepolicies.

  • Facilitate and support leadership through theinvestigation process includinginvestigationresolutionprogressive disciplineapplicationand potential employee termination.

  • Assistleaders in addressingemployee behavioraland performanceconcernsutilizingFinning performance management tools and conflict resolution strategies.

  • Liaise with localUnion Business Representatives on ongoinglabourrelations matters within respective client groups.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Partner with client groups to design succession plans for key talent and and development gaps and support the identification of high potential in developing Career Development Plans with their employees and coaching leaders on career development discussions.

  • Identifyand evaluate changes in industry practices and business trends andcapitalizeson opportunities that will improveclient operations including increasing team engagement and addressing inclusion and diversity initiatives.

  • Develop andfosteringthe organizations culture to build the climate for success.

Human Resources Programs

  • Provide directionguidanceandassistancein thesuccessful execution of annual HR programs acrossFinningincluding compensation planning performancemanagementand talent reviews.

  • Identifiesopportunities for educating and communicatingwithFinningspeople ( project rollouts etc.).

  • Provide feedback to theHR Centers of Excellenceregardingthe effectiveness ofCorporateprograms and products.

Mandatory (Must-Have) Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in human resources management labour relations management or a related field.

  • 5 or more years of professional-level human resource generalist experience working and collaborating with business leaders in a consultative capacity.

  • Previous experience working with HRIS systems. Previous experience with Workday considered an asset.

  • HR designation (CPHR) or significant progress towards completion considered an asset

  • Experience working within a unionized heavy industrial environment is preferred.
