Description

This position exists to support the Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education (CTPE) in its role as a market-driven self-supporting unit by leading the rapid design and development of high-quality professional training programs. The role is responsible for independently researching workforce needs translating industry demand into relevant learning experiences and delivering programs on an accelerated timeline to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by emerging technologies and shifting employer expectations. This position ensures CTPE can continuously produce innovative revenue-generating programs that meet the needs of working professionals and organizational partners while maintaining high standards of instructional quality and market relevance.



Responsibilities

Hiring Salary: 68000 to 70000 annually

Program Design & Development

  • Designs and develops high-quality online and hybrid professional training programs using established learning design principles and modern instructional technologies.
  • Independently researches subject matter areas industry trends and workforce needs to inform program development and ensure training content remains current relevant and aligned with market demand.
  • At times works with industry practitioners serving as subject matter experts (SMEs) and translates applied expertise into structured practical skills-based training programs for professional audiences.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function as both instructional designer and program developer independently leading projects from concept through development and implementation.
  • Develops engaging hands-on learning experiences designed specifically for adult learners and working professionals seeking practical applied training.

Digital Learning & Instructional Technology

  • Produces high-quality digital learning assets and multimedia materials while maintaining strong standards for clarity instructional quality and production timelines.
  • Applies rapid design and development approaches to create new training programs and educational products in response to evolving industry and organizational priorities.
  • Utilizes current and emerging learning technologies to enhance program delivery and learner engagement.

Project Management & Execution

  • Independently manages multiple development projects establishes timelines and maintains responsibility for project outcomes and deliverables.
  • Maintains awareness of modern instructional technologies digital learning tools and workforce training practices incorporating these into program design where appropriate.
  • Documents project scope development approach timelines and outcomes using appropriate project management and documentation tools.
  • Leads assigned projects and initiatives from initial concept through completion with minimal supervision.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluates existing programs and learning materials and implements improvements to ensure continued relevance quality and effectiveness.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelors degree in Communications Adult Education or Design or equivalent field.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate ( is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Instructional Design Instructional Technology Adult Education/Workforce Development Educational Technology Digital Learning or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience independently developing professional training programs and a portfolio showcasing instructional design and digital learning work.
  • Proficiency with Canvas and e-learning tools such as Camtasia Articulate and Synthesia.
  • Self-starter with strong project management organizational and problem-solving skills capable of taking full ownership of program development from concept through completion.
