Job Summary
Position Summary
The Urban Farm Technician will work with supervisors on implementation and management of an urban farm site serving veteran audiences in Boise Idaho in collaboration with other land use partners. The Technician will coordinate and perform the installation of University of Idaho Extension teaching and demonstration areas will maintain these areas and assist in supporting program participants and volunteers engaged in learning opportunities on site.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in Horticulture Agriculture Technology Plant Science or closely related field. Experience planting managing and harvesting horticultural crops in greenhouse and/or field environments. Experience with horticultural tools and equipment including but not limited to tillers mowers irrigation technology greenhouses high tunnels seeders weeders and sprayers.
Preferred Qualifications
At least three years of experience in research or commercial horticultural crop production including orchards market gardens or nurseries. Experience working with military veterans. Experience supervising students employees or volunteers.
