Salary & Benefits

The salary range is$23794 $51549 (based on the 202627 SEA Certified Salary Schedule) depending on education and experienceplus a generous benefits package. The salary is pro-rated based on the part-time FTE.

About the Position

In anticipation of possible vacancies Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for Part-Time (0.5 FTE) Elementary Learning Specialist (Elementary K5)positions. All hiring will be contingent upon available funds. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students lives by providing specialized support that helps every learner access engage in and succeed within the core curriculum.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working withelementary-aged students;
  • Strong understanding ofMulti-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)for academic and social/emotional/behavioral needs;
  • Knowledge of and experience withResponse to Instruction & Intervention (RtI)frameworks;
  • Familiarity withPositive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
  • Demonstrated ability to support and respond to thediverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgroundspresent in a K12 school community;
  • Strongrelationship-building skillswith students and the ability to establish effective classroom routines and management systems;
  • Ability to buildcollaborative relationshipswith staff students and families;
  • Experience providingindividualized explicit instructionaligned to the core curriculum;
  • Ability to effectivelymanage and supervise students and their learning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid Oregon teaching license (or ability to obtain one) with aSpecial Education: Generalist endorsement;
  • Ability to successfully passfingerprinting criminal Oregon Department of Education and TSPC background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual/Biliterate (Spanish)
