Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Parts Manager to lead our retail and wholesale operations in Maplewood. You will oversee the entire parts lifecycle-from procurement and inventory control to distribution-supporting both our service department and external this leadership role you will drive department profitability while ensuring a high level of customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Forecast goals and objectives; maintain balanced inventory levels consistent with the needs of the service department and wholesale accounts.
- Team Leadership: Hire train motivate and monitor the performance of all parts department staff including setting work schedules and enforcing safety requirements.
- Profitability & Operations: Establish pricing parameters to maximize gross profit while maintaining customer loyalty; prepare and administer annual operating budgets.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Partner with the Service Manager and Body Shop Manager to ensure timely availability of parts for internal repairs and warranty jobs.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with OEM (GM) suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains.
- Compliance & Records: Submits all parts warranty and return claims within required timeframes; ensures accurate record-keeping in dealership management systems (e.g. CDK)
Requirements & Qualifications
- GM Experience (Mandatory): Minimum 2 years of experience specifically managing a GM parts department or significant GM parts sales experience.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record in an automotive parts management or assistant manager position.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive systems parts and GM-specific service practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management software (CDK Reynolds & Reynolds) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 75 lbs. daily.
- Education & Credentials: High School Diploma or equivalent; valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
