Major Duties:
Manages the preparation and completion of all applicable financial reports timely accurately and in conformity with all regulatory reporting requirements for a region.
Responsible for implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure integrity of financial information for a region.
Proactively identifies accounting and reporting issues that may impact the Corporation and oversees the research to determine the overall impact. Recommends steps for resolution and communicates recommendations to management.
Responsible for the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting process prepares and reviews analyses of results relative to prior year prior month and/or Plan focusing on key business factors driving financial performance.
Responsible for the monthly/quarterly forecast process reviewing expected results with business unit managers to ensure the most accurate forecast.
Develops periodic goals organizes the work sets short-term priorities monitors all activities and ensures timely ad accurate completion of the work.
Manages special projects and ad hoc requests to support the Corporate Controller senior group manager and upper management of the organization.
Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise.
Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities.
Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.
Displays a balanced cross-functional perspective liaising with the business to improve efficiency effectiveness and productivity.
Makes staffing decisions manages expenses and salary review process for the division.
Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
Provides leadership and guidance to staff fostering an environment that encourages employee participation teamwork and communication.
Knowledge:
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required
Highly flexible and adaptable to change
Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft) is required
Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Units goals resources needed and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
Experience:
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required / preferred. Related Industry qualification (e.g. ACCA) is required / preferred
