Job Summary

Description

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Health Education & Wellness the primary purpose of the position is to assist in the leadership of health promotion practices that contribute to a supportive environment for success and positive health behaviors. This position is responsible for the development and application of population-level initiatives including prevention activities and health assessments; engagement and cultivation of partnerships to address the health needs of the campus community; and application and evaluation of theoretical frameworks and evidence-informed strategies that address individual and community health.



Responsibilities
  • Oversee and participate in the planning implementation and evaluation of theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies policies programs and services
  • Develop strategic plans goals and measurable objectives for health promotion programs and services
  • Hire train manage supervise and evaluate coordinators student staff and interns
  • Develop implement analyze assessments that provide baseline and follow-up data identify departmental needs and priorities evaluate effectiveness of interventions and track trends in health status and behavior
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to health for the university community
  • Participate in university division and unit committees and initiatives. Participate in professional organizations


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education:Masters Degree in Public Health Health Promotion Educational Leadership Higher Education or a related field
  • Experience:3 years of professional work experience with at least 2 years in health promotion. Direct supervisory experience of full-time employees.
  • Knowledge Skills Abilities:Knowledge of student development theories and models; knowledge of health promotion behavior change and population-based theories and models; knowledge of evidence-informed health promotion programs/initiatives; quantitative and qualitative research skills; skills in a variety of educational methods including presentations trainings small group and individual; written oral and interpersonal communication skills; supervisory skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience:Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge Skills Abilities:Ability to coordinate and implement campus/community programs processes and assessments.

Work Location

  • Location: Knoxville TN
  • This position is on-site at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Campus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR12
  • Anticipated hiring range: Minimum salary of $65000. Final salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
