The Commodity Sales professional willbe responsible fordriving client acquisition trading volume and revenue growth for the exchanges listed commodity derivatives across mainland China. The role focuses on originating and deepening relationships with Chinese institutionalcorporate clientsand other business collaboration partnership. It includespromoting the exchanges products and marketstructure andacting as the key interface between onshore clients and the exchanges global platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute a focused sales strategy for Chinarelated businessto grow trading volumes and open interest in listed commodity derivativesin a target driven environment.
- Identify onboard andmaintainstrong relationships withcross segmentInternationalChinese firmsand cross borderopportunities.
- Conduct client visits roadshows and product workshops across key Chinese commodity hubsas.
- Understand local clients hedging basis risk and internationalprice discoveryneeds; structure solutions using offshore/onshore listed derivatives.
- Educate clients oncross bordermarket access channels trading and clearing arrangements and the use of offshore contracts to complement onshore risk management.
- Support marketing campaigns in Mandarin and English (webinars seminars conferences industry associations) to raise the profile of the exchanges commodity franchise in China.
- Work closely withOnboarding teamsto ensure a seamless client experience from onboarding through live trading.
- Analyse client activity market share and competitive landscape toidentifygrowth opportunities.
- Prepare regular business reviews market intelligence reports and strategy updates for regional and global management with a specific focus onChina relatedtrends and competition (both onshore and offshore).
- Liaise with connectivity and technology teams to support FIX/API connectivity ISVs and local vendors commonly used by Chinese market participants.
- Identifybusiness opportunities and partnerships jointly with the local team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in finance Economics Business Engineering or related discipline from a recognized university; a masters degree or professional qualification (e.g. CFA FRM) is a plus.
- 510 years of experience in commodity derivatives sales brokerage trading or risk management ideally covering mainland China clients at an exchange bank securities/futures company or trading house.
- Strong understanding ofderivatives margining and clearing.
- Demonstratedtrack recordof building andmaintainingrelationships with Chinese institutional and corporate clients and delivering commercial results.
- Mainland Chinese commodity markets and major onshore exchanges
- Typical front-to-back workflows for Chinese clients trading offshore derivatives
- Cross bordercapital and trading frameworks relevant to derivatives (as applicable).
Skills & Competencies
