What youd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. This will give you a flavour of the types of things youll be working on when you start though it will likely evolve over time.
At the moment this role is focused on:
- Tell the Story Behind the Numbers: Craft clear actionable narratives using data. Turn complex insights into simple stories that inspire action whether with product teams regional leadership or the whole company.
- Identify Problems Before Theyre Obvious: Proactively surface growth opportunities user behaviour shifts or product mismatches across SEA so were always one step ahead.
- Build the Data Foundation for SEA: Design and build data products from scratch that bring visibility to our most important SEA metrics across user growth retention monetisation campaign performance and more.
- Create the SEA Data Strategy: Define how we track success across the region by setting clear relevant targets. Build frameworks and KPIs that help us measure impact and make better decisions tailored to local market nuances.
- Partner with Local Regional and Central Teams: Act as the bridge between our SEA teams (marketing country managers community) and global product and data functions. Ensure local insights are reflected in global priorities and drive a two-way flow of insights.
- Support Product & Experimentation Initiatives: Work closely with product teams to help design and measure new feature performance local experiments and A/B tests across EMEA markets.
Youre probably a match if:
- You have communication as your superpower you create alignment ask the right questions to deeply understand problems and rally stakeholders around actionable solutions.
- You bring 5 years of experience in data growth or product analytics driving impact beyond your immediate team and influencing adjacent teams through strong judgment and prioritisation.

- You influence and align cross-functional partners (product marketing country leads community) securing buy-in and ensuring insights translate into real decisions not just presentations.

- Youre hands-on with modern data stacks (e.g. Snowflake Mode NetSpring Omni) experimentation tools (e.g. Pilot or similar) and are highly proficient in SQL and R or Python.

This role is part of the International Data Team. Were a distributed team of Data Scientists based across Europe and around the world who exist to deliver a high-quality understanding of our markets products and users. We turn data into clarity so Canva can make the right decisions at the right time.
