The Role
- Senior Associate within Health & Benefits Line of Business with Willis Towers Watson US LLC in Arlington VA.
- Serve on a wide variety of complex analyses and projects involving the design financing and measurement and financial analysis of the full spectrum of employer health and group benefitprograms including medical dental life disability voluntary benefits etc.
- Interface with vendors and client teams help prepare client deliverables and ensure quality standards are met.
- Significantly grow health and benefits business acumen as well as your financial project management and communication skills by working on cutting edge projects alongside leaders in the industry.
- Serve as an active member on multiple employer client teams providing financial analyses outputs and client deliverables across a region.
- Provide direction on benefit plan analysis design cost avoidance risk and funding strategies.
- Contribute to vendor financial reviews for clients.
- Review technical and consulting accuracy on client projects including developing pricing and employee contributions strategies modelling plan design alternatives and calculating reserves.
- Deliver accurate and reliable claims reporting and financial modeling to client teams to support client decisions.
- Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams to deliver superior project management.
- Communicate complex financial/actuarial/analytic results to effectively drive client action.
- Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
QualificationsThe Requirements
- Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) inActuarial Science Mathematics or a related quantitative field
- Three (3) years of experience in a related benefits consulting role.
- Conducting health & welfare benefit strategy and design benefit benchmarking vendor management and employee communications.
- Applying working knowledge of healthcare financials including pricing/contribution theory risk identification and Incurred but Not Reported (IBNR) claim reserves.
- Fielding client questions from client finance team and handling ad hoc reporting requests
- Design/management of health and welfare plans gained in a consulting or brokerage environment or similar experience in a consultative role gained at a carrier or vendor.
- Project management experience including developing project plans and ensuring progress against established goals timelines and quality standards.
- Assessing the impact of regulatory changes on employee benefits and educating clients on local state and federal compliance requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
