High School Assistant Dance Coach

Position Title:Assistant Dance Coach
Location:Liberal High School
Reports To:Head Dance Coach / Athletic Director
Employment Type:Part-time

Position Summary

Liberal High Schoolis seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Dance Coach to support the Head Dance Coach in leading a successful and positive dance program. This individual will help develop student-athletes skills contribute to team culture and assist with practices performances and team operations.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and leading practices performances and competitions
Support choreography development and help teach routines
Reinforce team expectations related to discipline effort and sportsmanship
Help foster a positive inclusive and team-oriented environment
Supervise students during practices games performances and team events
Assist with coordination of uniforms music and equipment
Communicate effectively with the Head Coach and support clear communication with athletes
Help monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility
Ensure adherence to school district and state/activity association policies

Qualifications

Dance experience and/or prior coaching experience preferred
Knowledge of basic dance technique and performance skills
Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Head Coach
Strong communication and organizational skills
Positive attitude and ability to build relationships with students

Availability for after-school practices evenings and occasional weekends
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Must meet all district employment and background check requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with high school-aged students
Background in dance styles such as pom jazz hip-hop or similar
Interest in growing within a coaching role
