Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fleet Controller to join our team in Johannesburg. The Fleet Controller will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fleet ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods and services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation management excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and coordinate the daily operations of the fleet including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles tracking and monitoring of deliveries and managing driver schedules and routes. - Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance fuel consumption and other fleet-related expenses. - Monitor and analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs. - Communicate with drivers clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods and services. - Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. - Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate department. - Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of vehicle parts and services. - Train and mentor new drivers and provide ongoing support and guidance to the fleet team. - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the fleet department. Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management preferably in the transportation industry. - Strong knowledge of transportation laws and regulations. - Excellent organizational and time-management skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet management software. - Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
