Serve Those Who Served.Are you a seasoned construction management professional who wants your work to make a real difference Do you have a sharp eye for quality safety and contract complianceand the drive to keep complex construction projects on track French Consulting is looking for you.French Consulting is seeking a Construction Management Support Specialist to provide on-site and administrative construction management services in support of VA Medical Center facility projects in Salt Lake City UT. You will help ensure that construction quality safety and contract compliance standards are met on every projectprotecting the investment of the VA and the well-being of veterans and staff who depend on these facilities.What Youll DoSubmittal Management & Compliance Review- Coordinate and manage the submittal review process including maintenance of the submittal register.
- Review submittals on behalf of the VHA to verify that proposed materials and methods comply with project specifications VA standards applicable codes and VA Medical Center requirements.
RFI & Document Tracking- Document track monitor and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and responses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain organized and accurate project records for all construction documentation correspondence and field reports.
Schedule Monitoring- Review and monitor project schedules with a focus on milestone completion dates phasing requirements workflow sequencing material deliveries and testing timelines.
- Provide timely reporting on schedule status and recommend corrective action when needed.
Field Inspections & Quality Control- Perform on-site construction inspections as work progresses identifying non-conforming work and notifying when corrections are required.
- Compile thorough lists of defects and omissions identified during site inspections and provide these to the COR for action.
- Conduct weekly safety inspections and coordinate with the commissioning (CX) agent; follow up on safety-related issues through close-out.
- Provide field verification of as-built drawings and maintain updated as-built records.
Deliverable Production- Prepare and submit observation reports defect and omission lists site safety reports modification narratives sketches and drawings as required.
Who You Are- An experienced construction management professional with a strong background in federal or VA facility construction.
- Detail-focused and field-readyyoure comfortable on job sites and equally effective managing documentation.
- A strong communicator who can work alongside contractors designers and government representatives to resolve issues quickly.
- Proactive about safety quality and scheduleyou dont wait for problems to escalate.
- Committed to delivering results that benefit veterans and VA staff.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering Construction Technology or Construction Management.
- Additional 3 years of experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Experience- Minimum 3 years of relevant construction management experience.
Technical Knowledge- Advanced knowledge of construction practices materials and installation techniques.
- Experience in monitoring the construction for Quality Assurance including experience in preparing analyzing and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors work in relationship with the construction documents.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with healthcare construction standards and permitting requirements.
Security Requirements- Ability to obtain VA computer access including fingerprinting and background checks.
