About the Team
North Community Mental Health Team provides treatment for people experiencing moderate to severe mental multidisciplinary Team is made up of 33 individual staff is based on the Dunedin Hospital campus and provides Outpatient services and home-based outreach services.
You will feel welcomed and supported and have a wide range of opportunities for ongoing professional development as well as clinical supervision. You will receive a comprehensive orientation to the team and the wider Mental Health Service.
About the Role
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join the North Community Mental Health Team on a permanet basis.
We are an innovative service motivated to provide optimal treatment through assessment and continued multi-disciplinary team co-ordination of this role you will work alongside experienced clinical staff and be an integral member of the team.
You will be a motivated individual keen to make a difference and who thrives in a busy and diverse working environment. You will possess excellent communication and team working skills and will be able to work well under pressure and stressful situations.
You will require good time management skills to enable your assessment planning and delivery of effective clinical psychology interventions for patients. You will also be actively involved in individual and group therapies. Ensuring the continued wellbeing of your clients will see you liaising extensively with other clinical psychologists within the organisation.
You will have a sound knowledge of clinical psychology assessment and interventions with relevance to intellectual disability as well as mental health. Your communication skills will be of the highest standard allowing you to relate to the clients their families and other health professionals while providing clear appropriate communication when presenting and discussing clinical information. The clinical psychologist role is an integral and valued member of a multidisciplinary team providing patient-centred interventions.

To be eligible for consideration you must be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the NZ Psychologists Board hold a current practising certificate and NZ driver licence.
Salary range
This role belongs to the APEX Allied Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls betweenStep 1 $85000 and Step 8 $120000 (Pro rata)of the Degree-Based scale.
