About the role
The Assistant Accountant Health supports the delivery of accurate timely financial processing
and reporting across Health & Hospitals. The role contributes to month-end and year-end
accounting revenue processing audit support and operational finance activities working closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance team to support informed decision-making and compliance.
This is a permanent position and is based at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include
- Month end and financial accounting
- Billing receipting and debtors
- Reporting and analysis
- Controls Compliance & Audit
- Work closely with hospital admin staff front-line teams and third-party providers to resolve account queries
- Provide support to the Finance Manager GM Finance Health and Finance Business Partner as required
- Undertake other finance and administrative duties as required to support the effective operation of the Health Finance team
About you
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCares Christian Mission Motivation and Mission in Action.
- At least three years demonstrated experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or finance support role with exposure to monthend processes.
- Strong practical accounting and reconciliation skills within a complex operational environment.
- Currently undertaking or intending to commence CPA or CA studies.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders to achieve corporate goals.
- Intermediate computer skills specifically MS Office (Outlook Word and Excel).
- Proficiency in English both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong administration planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlinesExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
