Whats the role

Youll play a key role in supporting Westpac Institutional Banks Financial Markets business by managing relationships within a portfolio of Asia based institutional clients including Fund Managers Hedge Funds and other Non-Bank Financial Institutions. This role sits within the Institutional Counterparty Management team and works closely with Financial Markets sales teams to assist in bringing opportunities to life across products like FX Rates and Credit.

Day to day youll be the connector helping onboard new opportunities coordinating with internal partners like KYC Credit and Legal and making it easier for our sales teams to focus on trading and client outcomes. Youll build strong trusted relationships with clients understand their needs and risks and help deliver a seamless experience. This is a fulltime role based in Sydney with a flexible hybrid working model.

What do I need

Youll bring a curious mindset and a genuine interest in financial markets along with the confidence to build trusted relationships. Youll have:

  • Relationship Management experience ideally within institutional banking or a related environment.
  • A solid understanding of financial markets and how institutional clients use products like FX Rates or Credit.
  • Exposure to risk and credit concepts with an appreciation of regulatory legal and operational considerations.
  • Familiarity with traded documentation or derivative regulations or a willingness to build this knowledge on the job.
  • Mandarin language skills or experience working with Asia based clients would be highly regarded.
