A high-performing and Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in York is seeking an ambitious and knowledgeable Subject Lead of Biology to join its successful Science department from April. The Role
The school is looking for an inspiring and forward-thinking Subject Lead of Biology who can lead with confidence while maintaining excellent classroom practice.
Responsibilities of the Subject Lead of Biology include:
Leading and developing Biology across KS3KS5
Teaching engaging and challenging Biology lessons up to A-Level
Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the Science department
Contributing to wider departmental and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate
The successful Subject Lead of Biology will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong experience teaching Biology across KS3KS5
Demonstrate leadership experience or readiness to lead a subject area
Have a proven track record of strong student outcomes
Be passionate about Biology and committed to excellence in education
