Job Summary
Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor and in collaboration with the Accounting Department the Payroll Technician assists with payroll processing as well as the administration of group insurance and employee benefits. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders across Germain Hotels properties in multiple provinces.
WHAT YOULL DO
Open employee files in the time management system and the payroll system
Enter various payroll data: tip payments bonuses status changes banking updates additional deductions etc.
Validate electronic timesheets before importing them into the payroll system
Ensure compliance with applicable collective agreements and labor standards across different provinces
Process employee departures pay out vacation and produce termination records
Balance and process payroll for all company properties
Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll
Monitor study and work permits
Generate various reports as needed
Support the team with any other payroll-related tasks
WHAT YOULL BRING
College diploma in Accounting or a related field
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of UKG and Microsoft Office is an asset
Strong communication skills in both French and English spoken and written due to the nature of the tasks and interactions with colleagues partners or English-speaking clients across Canada
