Work Hours: US Shift (India Night Shifts)
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in US Mortgage Operations with at least 2 years in a Team Leader/People Management role.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader – US Mortgage Operations to lead and manage a team supporting a critical US mortgage processes. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in US mortgage operations proven people management capabilities and the ability to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead mentor and manage a team of mortgage professionals handling end-to-end Operations across one or more lines of business (Origination Processing Underwriting Closing Post-Closing Servicing or Default).
• Ensure team adherence to client-specific service level agreements (SLAs) compliance requirements and quality standards.
• Monitor daily workflow allocate resources and track productivity to meet business targets.
• Conduct regular performance reviews coaching and training to enhance team efficiency and domain expertise.
• Drive process improvements automation opportunities and operational best practices to improve accuracy and turnaround time.
• Act as the first point of escalation for client queries exceptions or operational challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Quality Compliance Training and Client Relationship teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Prepare and present operational dashboards MIS reports and performance metrics to senior leadership and clients.
• Foster a positive and professional team culture aligned with organizational goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in any stream.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Team Leader/People Management role.
• Willing to work in night shifts (US Client). Pure WFO with no possibility of remote or hybrid working
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving loan issues team challenges and adapting to shifting regulations or market conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with both the team and clients.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Commitment to upholding honesty integrity and accountability within the team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong domain knowledge in at least one of the following mortgage lines of business:
o Loan Origination & Processing
o Underwriting & Closing
o Post-Closing & Servicing
o Foreclosure Bankruptcy or Default Management
• Proven experience in people management team building and performance coaching.
• Sound understanding of US mortgage regulations compliance standards and investor guidelines.
• Customer-focused mindset prioritizing client satisfaction and the resolution of client concerns promptly.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced target-driven environment managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Team-building and empowerment skills fostering a collaborative atmosphere and supporting professional growth among team members.
• High level of organization familiar with reporting systems with strong attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office (Excel PowerPoint Word) and mortgage LOS systems.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience in managing client interactions with US-based lenders or servicers.
• Exposure to process transitions migrations or setting up new teams.
• Certification(s) in mortgage or compliance (desirable but not mandatory).
