Position Overview
TheExecutive Director (ED)is responsible for leading the organizationsoperations programs finances and partnerships. This role requires abalance of strategic leadership and hands-on management ensuring that On the Road to Wellness remainsfinancially stable and participant-focused.
The ED must havelived experience with mental health recoveryand a strong commitment topeer-led support. They will overseestaff budget compliance and community engagementwhile maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Full-time MondayFriday
Evening and weekend hours as needed
Leadership & Strategy
Work closely with theBoard of Directors (BOD)to develop implement and revisestrategic initiatives and organizational policiesbased on the evolving needs of members staff and the community.
Ensure the organization remainspeer-ledand true to its mission.
Identify opportunities forgrowth partnerships and service expansion.
Represent On the Road to Wellness in the community andadvocate for peer support.
Program Oversight
Oversee dailypeer support programmingand ensure smooth operations.
Work with staff toaddress participant needsand improve services.
Ensure proper documentation ofattendance incident reports and program impact.
Financial & Business Management
Develop and oversee the budgetensuring financial stability and compliance.
Managefiscal planning reporting and daily financial operations.
Research and pursue additional funding sourcesincluding grants and partnerships to support organizational growth.
Staff Leadership & Workplace Culture
Hire train and support senior-level staff and consultantswhile fostering amission-driven team culture.
Foster acollaborative inclusive and supportive work environment.
Providecoaching feedback and leadership development.
Addressstaff challengessuch as workload communication and team dynamics.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships withlocal organizations social service agencies funders and mediato increase visibility and expand partnerships.
Represent the organization atcommunity meetings presentations and advocacy events.
Explorecollaborative opportunitiesto expand impact.
Board Relations
Providemonthly updatesto the Board onfinances operations and strategic initiatives.
Attendmonthly board meetingsand participate in committees as needed.
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience required; masters degree preferred.
A compassionate collaborative leaderwith strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skillsable to foster asupportive and inclusive work environmentwhile effectively engaging with staff participants and community partners.
Proven leadership experience with the ability toinspire and empower teams make strategic decisions and oversee daily operations without direct managerial responsibilities.
Strong financial and business management skillsincluding budgeting compliance and operational oversight.
Lived experience with mental health recoveryand a commitment to peer support.
Must hold a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) credential or obtain it within one year of hire
Preferred:
Leadership experience innonprofits peer support mental health and social services.
Knowledge ofpeer support models and recovery-oriented approaches.
Experience managingbudgets staff and nonprofit operations.
Familiarity withstate and federal regulations affecting peer support.
