Job Summary

Job Title: Finance and Procurement Manager

Location: Lagos Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite 2 days remote)

Reporting Line:

  • Directly to the Chief Operating Officer / Executive Director
  • Indirectly to the Board Finance Committee

Role Overview

The Finance & Procurement Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the organizations financial management and procurement functions. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity operational efficiency compliance and value-driven procurement practices aligned with LEAP Africas mission and donor expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage cash flow financial risks and investment strategies
  • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making

Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulatory and donor requirements
  • Oversee audits (internal and external) and implement recommendations
  • Maintain robust internal controls and financial governance systems
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of financial transactions

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures
  • Oversee sourcing vendor selection and contract negotiation processes
  • Ensure cost-effectiveness transparency and compliance in procurement activities
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance evaluation

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead mentor and develop a team of 7 professionals
  • Drive a high-performance accountable and collaborative team culture
  • Identify skill gaps and support staff development initiatives

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Oversee the use and optimization of financial management systems (e.g. NetSuite QuickBooks SAP Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Improve financial and procurement processes for efficiency and scalability
  • Leverage data and technology for reporting and decision-making


Requirements


Education & Certification

  • Masters degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Procurement Management or a related field
  • Must be a Chartered professional (e.g. ICAN ACCA CIPS or equivalent)

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in financial management and procurement
  • At least 6 years in a progressive leadership role
  • Prior experience in an international development organization or NGO is highly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in financial reporting budgeting and auditing
  • Hands-on experience in procurement contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Proficiency in financial systems (NetSuite QuickBooks SAP Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong MS Office skills
