Job Summary
Job Title: Finance and Procurement Manager
Location: Lagos Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite 2 days remote)
Reporting Line:
- Directly to the Chief Operating Officer / Executive Director
- Indirectly to the Board Finance Committee

Role Overview
The Finance & Procurement Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the organizations financial management and procurement functions. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity operational efficiency compliance and value-driven procurement practices aligned with LEAP Africas mission and donor expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage cash flow financial risks and investment strategies
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making
Accounting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulatory and donor requirements
- Oversee audits (internal and external) and implement recommendations
- Maintain robust internal controls and financial governance systems
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of financial transactions
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures
- Oversee sourcing vendor selection and contract negotiation processes
- Ensure cost-effectiveness transparency and compliance in procurement activities
- Manage vendor relationships and performance evaluation
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead mentor and develop a team of 7 professionals
- Drive a high-performance accountable and collaborative team culture
- Identify skill gaps and support staff development initiatives
Systems & Process Optimization
- Oversee the use and optimization of financial management systems (e.g. NetSuite QuickBooks SAP Microsoft Dynamics)
- Improve financial and procurement processes for efficiency and scalability
- Leverage data and technology for reporting and decision-making
Requirements
Education & Certification
- Masters degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Procurement Management or a related field
- Must be a Chartered professional (e.g. ICAN ACCA CIPS or equivalent)
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in financial management and procurement
- At least 6 years in a progressive leadership role
- Prior experience in an international development organization or NGO is highly preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in financial reporting budgeting and auditing
- Hands-on experience in procurement contract negotiation and vendor management
- Proficiency in financial systems (NetSuite QuickBooks SAP Microsoft Dynamics)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong MS Office skills
