Role description:

Managing a team to proactively support PMs to ensure Arcadis projects are set up forecast billed and closed in a timely manner as set out in the Arcadis Way Principles. Work closely with BU Controllers to ensure accurate reporting of performance minimise working capital and escalate risks identified.

Working Relationships & Contacts:

  • Project Managers & Business Directors day to day support
  • Credit Control liaising and supporting for cash collection.
  • Accounts Payable / Procurement - liaising and supporting for timely payment of suppliers.
  • Project Finance collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Financial Accounting team
  • Management Reporting team

Role accountabilities:

  • Provide effective management to engage motivate and develop all direct reports
  • Build trusted relationships with Business Directors to ensure appropriate quality and service
  • Drive working capital improvements through timely billing proactive support for cash collection and close collaboration with Credit Control and operational teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Train Project Managers on Oracle and support where required
  • Advise Project Managers on efficient project set-up structures ensuring revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS
  • Identify continuous improvement and encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across the wider finance team
  • Support Project Managers to reforecast projects as required; identify and challenge project performance changes to drive accuracy of month end reporting
  • Support on project reviews as required; report any risks identified to management
  • Lead robust project forecasting and review cycles challenging assumptions and ensuring movements in forecast and backlog are understood realistic and well supported.
  • Use financial and operational insight to challenge performance improve predictability and support stronger commercial outcomes.
  • Support Business Partners interpret month end results; review and analyse P&L results including multiplier FB and indirect costs.
  • Support Business Partners with the business planning & estimate process
  • Provide insightful management information to Business Directors / Operations Directors
  • Comply with Arcadis Way policies and procedures

Dimensions of The Role:

  • Responsible for delivering timely & high quality financial support to the business
  • Acts as a key finance contact and trusted business partner for Business Directors
  • Work collaboratively with other Finance Managers & Finance Business Partners to support the wider business and drive continuous improvement

Some ad-hoc travel across UK locations will be required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Fully Qualified accounting qualification or equivalent by experience
  • Ability to organise motivate and develop a team
  • Relevant experience of working in a medium/large organisation
  • Excel and ERP to a medium proficiency
  • Attention to detail and consistent high standards
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Commercial awareness
