No two days will be the same as you work in a highly visible function and complement our Digital Data & Artificial Intelligence (DDAI) team of SMEs.
Were looking for a Senior AI Engineer who has lived the reality of taking AI from concept to production and keeping it there.
This role is designed for senior engineers who thrive on delivery ownership and realworld complexity. If your experience is primarily academic experimental or limited to proofsofconcept this role is unlikely to be the right fit. If however youve built AI systems that operate under enterprise constraints regulatory expectations and customer impact at scale we want to talk.
Youll be a handson technical leader someone trusted to set direction mentor others and still dive deep into code architecture and problemsolving when it matters most. Your work will power AI solutions used by millions of customers where reliability security and responsible AI are nonnegotiable.
Your role and responsibilities
Youll operate at the intersection of cuttingedge AI engineering and enterprisegrade execution leading by example and delivering systems that perform in the real world.
- Design build deploy and operate productiongrade ML and GenAI systems that solve complex highimpact business problems.
- Own AI solutions endtoend from data pipelines and model development through to deployment monitoring performance optimisation and lifecycle management.
- Engineer agentic and GenAI solutions using frameworks such as LangChain LlamaIndex AutoGen DSPy with a strong bias toward robustness testability and maintainability.
- Build and maintain industrialstrength CI/CD and MLOps pipelines using tools like Jenkins GitHub and Bamboo designed for regulated highavailability environments.
- Work deeply with big data platforms (e.g. Hadoop Spark) to enable scalable feature engineering training and inference.
- Deliver solutions across Azure ML Azure AI Services and Synapse with clear attention to security cost resilience and operational excellence.
- Partner closely with data scientists software engineers product leaders risk and governance teams to translate ideas into trusted AI products not slideware.
- Contribute across the stack when needed including backend () frontend (React) and emerging patterns such as graphbased AI systems.
- Set practical standards for responsible AI embedding ethics explainability and governance into production workflows not bolted on after the fact.
- Coach and uplift others through clear technical leadership and collaboration not commandandcontrol.
What you bring
Were deliberately looking for depth of experience over breadth of experimentation.
- Substantial handson experience engineering AI/ML systems in production ideally within large complex or regulated corporate environments.
- Expertlevel Python with strong realworld usage of PyTorch TensorFlow scikitlearn and modern ML tooling.
- Demonstrated experience taking AI beyond PoCs including real-time troubleshooting deployment monitoring drift detection retraining strategies and operational support.
- Strong MLOps and platform engineering capability including CI/CD Infrastructure as Code and automation (e.g. Terraform Chef).
- Practical experience delivering AI on cloud platforms particularly Azure (AWS also valued).
- Working knowledge of bash PowerShell and modern engineering practices.
- The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences adjusting style and depth as needed.
- A mindset of ownership pragmatism and accountability you care as much about outcomes as innovation.
- A strong personal commitment to ethical inclusive and responsible AI.
