About the Opportunity
Star Nursing is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in an acute care setting.
This role focuses on medication preparation dispensing and inventory management while supporting clinical staff and ensuring safe and accurate medication delivery to patients.
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician assists in the preparation and distribution of medications including oral and IV medications while maintaining compliance with pharmacy standards and safety protocols. This role supports pharmacy operations automated dispensing systems and medication workflows across clinical departments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense unit dose and stock medications
- Fill and distribute oral and IV medications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain automated dispensing systems (ADS)
- Process and triage medication orders
- Support inventory management and medication storage
- Ensure compliance with safety regulatory and operational standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists and clinical staff
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician license or certification
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience in a healthcare setting
- OR 2 years hospital pharmacy experience if not PTCB certified
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician program completion
- PTCB certification
- Experience with automated dispensing machines (ADMs)
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Sterile compounding certification (if applicable)
