Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Location: Des Plaines IL 60018 Onsite
Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension
Shift/Schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM/M-F
Job Description:
- Wet lab testing experience in a GMP laboratory setting (PCR HPLC etc.)
- Experience supporting Quality Management System (QMS) activities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct product testing to support complaint investigations and stability verification
- Generate product testing result reports
- Review production batch records (DHRs) for accuracy and completeness
- Review finished goods batch records and resolve deviations before approval
- Conduct spot-checks inspections/audits of production operations
- Participate in internal audit programs
- Write review and approve SOPs as necessary
- Support document control record retention and sample retention areas
- Support returned instrument processing
- Log returned instruments from the field
- Decontaminate returned instruments in a Biohazard Level II environment following SOPs
- Inspect returned instruments for damage and document findings
- Process instrument documentation and pack instruments for repair facility return
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to follow GMP and GLP requirements
- Bachelors degree in a scientific or technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 1 year of Quality Assurance experience in the medical device industry preferred
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret SOPs safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong communication skills
- Basic mathematical and analytical skills
- Knowledge of database inventory spreadsheet internet and word processing software
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to accurately document results and follow procedures
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and deviation identification
- Ability to use bleach for cleaning purposes
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit and stand
- Occasionally required to walk
