Job Summary
CNC Turning & CNC Milling – Job Description
Job Title: CNC Operator – Turning / Milling
Industry: Manufacturing / Precision Engineering / Tool Room
Experience: 2 to 5 Years
Key Responsibilities
CNC Turning Operator
- Operate CNC turning machines as per job specifications
- Understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Perform job setup including chucking tool setting and workpiece alignment
- Input and adjust basic machine parameters
- Monitor machining operations to ensure correct dimensions
- Use measuring instruments (Vernier Micrometre Height Gauge)
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Maintain 5S and safety protocols on the shop floor
CNC Milling Operator
- Operate CNC Vertical Machining Centres (VMC) or Milling machines
- Read and interpret technical drawings and process sheets
- Set up fixtures tools and workpieces on the machine
- Load programs and make minor offsets/adjustments
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools
- Maintain accuracy and surface finish as per quality standards
- Follow machining cycle times and improve productivity
- Handle routine machine cleaning and maintenance
Skills Required
- Knowledge of CNC machines (Turning / Milling)
- Understanding of G-code and M-code (basic level)
- Knowledge of Fanuc Mazak and Simence Controller.
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Knowledge of machining processes cutting tools and materials
- Experience with measurement tools: Vernier Micrometre Bore Gauge
- Safety awareness and disciplined work approach
Educational Qualification
- ITI Turner / ITI Machinist
- Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Tool & Die
Additional Requirements

- Basic computer knowledge
