Twoim głównym zadaniem będzie współtworzenie i utrzymywanie skalowalnych pipelineów danych na naszej platformie Big Data (Spark/Databricks/Hive). Będziesz również blisko współpracować z zespołem Data Science wspierając ich w procesach ETL oraz budowaniu kohort.

• Praca w zespole crossfunkcyjnym z doświadczonymi inżynierami
• Pisanie i ulepszanie skalowalnego wydajnego kodu przy wsparciu starszych członków zespołu
• Współtworzenie i utrzymywanie pipelineów ETL oraz procesów ekstrakcji cech
• Nauka monitorowania i diagnozowania wydajności klastrów Spark
• Udział w ceremoniach Agile i aktywne uczestnictwo w dyskusjach zespołowych

• Wykształcenie kierunkowe (Informatyka lub pokrewne) lub równoważne doświadczenie/szkolenia
• Podstawowe doświadczenie z Scala i Apache Spark (mile widziane projekty akademickie własne lub staże)
• Silne umiejętności analityczne i rozwiązywania problemów oraz zainteresowanie statystyką ML lub AI
• Znajomość SQL
• Podstawowa znajomość Git

IQVIA are hiring a Junior Big Data Engineer with some exposure to Scala and Spark and a strong interest in growing into a full Big Data engineering role. Youll join a supportive team of experienced engineers and data scientists who will help you develop your skills while contributing to real production systems.

Your main responsibility will be to help build and maintain scalable data pipelines on our Big Data platform (Spark/Databricks/Hive). Youll also collaborate closely with the Data Science team to support their ETL workflows and cohortbuilding tasks.

What your day might look like:

• Working in a crossfunctional team alongside experienced Engineers
• Writing and improving scalable highperformance code with guidance from senior team members
• Helping to build and maintain ETL and featureextraction pipelines
• Learning how to monitor and troubleshoot Spark cluster performance
• Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to team discussions
• Assisting with refactoring existing libraries and scripts into Scala or Python
• Learning and applying coding standards and best practices
• Collaborating with colleagues across different locations
• Working in an environment where youll encounter new technical and functional challenges

What were looking for

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent training/experience
• Some handson experience with Scala and Apache Spark (academic personal projects or internships welcome)
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with interest in areas like statistics machine learning or AI
• Understanding of SQL
• Familiarity with Git
• Willingness to learn how to refactor code for scalability and production use
• Curiosity about integrating data from multiple sources
• Exposure to Databricks or Snowflake is a plus but not required
• Understanding of core data structures and algorithms

Nice to have

• Experience with Big Data ML libraries (Mahout SparkML H2O)
• Exposure to streaming or distributed systems (Kafka Ignite Druid)
• Familiarity with Docker or other container tools
• Experience with NoSQL databases (HBase Cassandra MongoDB)
• Awareness of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
