Indirect Tax GL Accountant

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Perform moderately complex balance sheet reconciliation activities focusing on Indirect Tax Accounts.

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and review of the assigned account reconciliations.

• Timely and accurate reporting of reconciling items for correction and adjustments with Tax Returns.

• Timely and accurate reporting of aged reconciliation variances to assist with corrections in the general ledger.

• Analyze data to resolve reconciling items and variances and to address queries on accounts movements.

• Ensure reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal policies audit procedures and regulations.

• Escalate issues and recommend resolutions to the manager or stakeholders for timely resolution.

• Document and update the SOP/DTP of current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required.

• Perform moderate to complex tasks in compliance with service level agreement process policies and procedures.

• Contribute in various and simultaneous process improvement initiatives to streamline processes improve customer experience and increase productivity.

• Assist in audit-related activities.

• Document reconciliations using specific tools as Blackline.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting/finance

• 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in Finance or Accounting

• Excellent proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel Power Point etc)

• Working knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and procedures and intern controls

• Experience with Indirect Tax Compliance is an advantage

• Experience working withOracle and Blackline Systems is an advantage
