Position Overview
Trinity Healthcare Talent Services is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist (PT) for an acute care hospital setting in Merced CA.
The Physical Therapist will provide rehabilitation services to adult and geriatric patients across multiple inpatient units. This role focuses on improving mobility restoring function and supporting recovery through individualized evidence-based therapy interventions.
The therapist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic hospital environment and may support inpatient services with occasional exposure to outpatient settings.

Average Census: 150 patients
Charting System: Cerner (upgraded version)
Dress Code: Burgundy polo/long sleeve shirt with black pants
Clinical Coverage Areas
Therapists will provide care for patients in:
ICU (20 beds)
Telemetry (34 beds)
Medical and surgical units
Orthopedic and neurological cases
Pulmonary and medically complex patients
Key Responsibilities
Perform patient evaluations and functional mobility assessments
Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
Deliver therapeutic exercises mobility training and early mobility interventions
Support early mobility programs including vent mobility (Level 2)
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation (Cerner)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge planning
Assist in care coordination across inpatient units
Required Qualifications
Active California Physical Therapist License
BLS Certification (AHA)
Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience
Strong clinical and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in acute care hospital settings
Experience with early mobility programs
Familiarity with Cerner EMR
Scheduling & Assignment Details
40 hours guaranteed per week
Monday Friday schedule
Shift: 9:30 AM 6:00 PM
Optional 10-hour shifts may be considered
Weekend scheduling structure may include split schedules if required
Important Notes
Floating may be required within inpatient services
Strong collaboration with PT OT and Speech Therapy teams
Exposure to diverse patient populations from pediatrics (OP) to geriatrics (IP)
Facility is stroke-certified (NIH certified) and supports advanced rehab programs
Hospital includes early mobility programs and specialized rehab services
Located near major travel destinations (Yosemite Monterey Bay San Francisco Sierra Nevada)

Active state licensure verification
BLS certification
