The Opportunity
Summary of Project
We are seeking talented motivated professionals to join our new Accelerator Project dedicated to designing and delivering a modern clouddeployed reference architecture for operational software systems. This is a handson and highimpact initiative that will directly influence how our organisation approaches largescale system deployment configuration management and operational resilience.
Summary of role
The Software Architect will work closely with the Principal Engineer to define the platforms overall design reference architecture and supporting demonstrators. This role demands broad technical depth and is well suited to someone experienced across the full stack of largescale deployed systems who can make principled highquality design decisions across diverse technologies.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in either Adelaide Canberra Melbourne Sydney or Brisbane.
Responsibilities
Design and implement highquality software while maintaining architectural integrity across the stack.
Lead architectural decisionmaking setting technical direction and balancing key tradeoffs.
Own solutions endtoend from design through deployment and longterm stewardship.
Work autonomously showing initiative and strong problemsolving capability.
Collaborate closely within a small highimpact team and contribute to shared delivery.
Operate effectively in a fastmoving environment with evolving requirements.
Shape foundational architecture and establish best practices for longterm success.
Adopt and explore emerging AIassisted development tools to enhance delivery and quality
Qualifications Skills and Experience
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Proven experience designing and delivering largescale productionready systems.
Strong cloud and Kubernetes expertise including ecosystem tooling and InfrastructureasCode (Terraform Ansible or similar).
Familiarity with GitOps secure system design supplychain security and airgapped environments.
Experience with messaging or eventstreaming platforms (e.g. Kafka).
Broad technical capability able to reason across the stack and make sound architectural tradeoffs.
Experience with Go TypeScript or Java; proficiency with Git workflows code review and CI/CD.
Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles.
Effective technical communicator able to document and justify architectural decisions.
Experience with AIassisted and agentic development tools including safe integration practices.
