Job Description:
We are currently seeking aSenior Specialist Continuous Improvementto join our team inCulpeper Virginia. You will be a part of our Senior Leadership team supporting continuous improvement / lean manufacturing this role and under minimal direction you will be responsible for solving a variety of complex problems while helping to shape the culture of a rapidly-expanding and challenged workforce.
Essential Functions:
15% Inspire coach and support personnel at all levels in the realization of continuous improvement through targeted projects and the sites Operational Excellence framework. Work with various functional leaders to drive rapid adoption and propagation of industry best practices. Oversee the sites progress across eight functional pillars and55 core as member of both the Leadership Commitment and Employee Engagement teams.
15% Coach and collaborate with senior leadership team in support of the sites annual strategic planning cycle.
15% Ensure that improvement projects are completed in a timely manner and deliver expected value tracking progress against site financial impact goals.
15% Interact daily with shop floor personnel advocating for participation in and support for continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Build trust through transparency professionalism and personal accountability.
10% Facilitate process improvement events (kaizen VSM 3P etc.) as needed to support site function and program needs.
10% Train and coach employees in the proper use of lean and continuous improvement tools processes and methodologies. Oversee the overall maturity of CI capabilities to meet the growing/changing needs of the site.
10% Network with colleagues at other sites to share and borrow best practices and to ensure that enterprise-level systems function efficiently and effectively. Render a concise weekly progress report to Senior Leadership.
10% Other duties as assigned which may include support for the sites business resilience planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Project Management and Continuous Improvement experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- MBA and/or Six Sigma certification is preferred as is experience managing continuous improvement including the planning and facilitation of LEAN events.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Integrated Master Schedules or Microsoft Project.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on approach to process improvements.
- Able to be flexible approachable good imagination to help develop outside of box thinking and important to be able to multi-task and be very well organization.
