About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that help pupils develop technical ability creative thinking and confidence in their artistic work.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
Planning and delivering creative and structured lessons using a variety of media
Supporting pupils in developing drawing painting and design techniques
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through coursework and practical tasks
Preparing pupils for GCSE and/or A-Level Art assessments
Supporting the organisation of exhibitions displays and school art events
Maintaining a safe organised and inspiring classroom environment
Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Art and Design
Be confident teaching a range of artistic techniques
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Be organised and able to manage resources effectively
Have the ability to inspire creativity and independent thinking
Work effectively within a collaborative team
