Were looking for an MLRO to join our Compliance Team in Malta and manage group-wide AML/CTF issues. The role involves delivering a comprehensive regulatory compliance program and contributing to proprietary software development to meet multi-jurisdictional obligations.

This position may suit a law graduate seeking to develop expertise in the technical gambling sector.

Your role & responsibilities

• Hold legal MLRO position for all International and Group operations securing required personal licenses and permits.
• Liaise with external enforcement agencies respond to intelligence requests and lead all AML-focused audits.
• Provide strategic business guidance on sensitive AML risks in new products and jurisdictions.
• Advise on applicable AML/CTF risks in AML and management committees.
• Maintain effective and relevant Business Risk Assessments updating annually or upon major changes to cover present and future risks.
• Prepare AML-related reports for management and the board (e.g. review outcomes regulation updates).
• Set the agenda for AML training and develop/deliver it across the organisation.
• Maintain knowledge of all AML regulations and potential changes sharing and actioning updates with internal teams.
• Ensure AML reporting is current and up-to-date to protect the business from high-risk issues.
• Receive all internal iSARs review and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for suspicious players.
• Ongoing monitoring of players using a risk-based approach ensuring AML/CTF processes function for tier progression and offboarding.
• Ongoing monitoring of affiliates and 3rd party AML/CTF risks to ensure processes function correctly.
• Support in adapting and improving AML/CTF processes and monitoring tools to adhere to all regulatory requirements.
• Take overall responsibility for the companys AML/CTF Policies and Procedures.
• Conduct internal AML/CTF audits on a regular basis.
• Create and monitor AML-related KPIs across all jurisdictions to ensure correct high-quality process implementation.
• Ensure record keeping is up to date and compliant with all AML/CTF data retention periods.
• Participate in external AML-related groups of experts to enhance knowledge.

Essential skills:

• Required Experience: Law Graduate or 2 years of professional experience in legal and/or compliance.
• Information Synthesis: Distil critical information from regulatory guidance statutes regulations and audit findings and determine how it impacts the business.
• Stakeholder Management: Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure best practices transparency and proactive communication.
• Effective Communication: Delivery of effective communication.
• Process Improvement: Ability to review and embed ways of working with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
• Professional Ethics: Maintain integrity and professional ethics.
• Reporting Fluency: Be fluent in reporting procedures and record-keeping.
• Planning Skills: Outstanding planning abilities.
