Production Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing operations at our facility in Agbor Delta. This role is responsible for planning controlling and improving production processes to ensure products are delivered efficiently on time within budget and to the required quality standards.

The Production Manager will play a central role in driving operational discipline across the plant improving output reducing waste and ensuring production teams work safely and effectively. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to run a factory floor solve operational problems and get consistent performance from people process and equipment.

What You Will Own

• Lead daily weekly and monthly production planning in line with business targets and demand requirements.
• Coordinate workflow across production lines to ensure smooth execution and minimal disruption.
• Monitor production schedules and make timely adjustments to meet deadlines and output expectations.
• Oversee all production activities to ensure efficiency productivity and cost control.
• Optimize the use of labour machinery and raw materials across the operation.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective action quickly and effectively.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase output reduce waste and strengthen process reliability.
• Lead supervise and develop production supervisors and shop-floor teams.
• Set clear expectations allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance consistently.
• Conduct performance reviews coaching and on-the-job training to strengthen team capability.
• Promote a culture of discipline accountability and teamwork across the production function.
• Ensure all finished products meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to resolve defects reduce rework and improve product consistency.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to support preventive maintenance corrective repairs and equipment reliability.
• Minimize downtime and improve machine availability across the plant.
• Enforce health safety and environmental standards across all production activities.
• Ensure proper PPE use safe work practices and compliance with operating procedures.
• Monitor raw material usage support inventory accuracy and work closely with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Prepare and present production reports covering output downtime efficiency and operational issues.
• Analyze production data and identify opportunities for performance improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing Industrial Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 58 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 23 years in a supervisory or managerial production role.
• Proven experience leading production teams and managing manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of production operations capacity planning and process control.
• Strong leadership and team management capability.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Good understanding of quality control standards and production compliance requirements.
• Strong data analysis reporting and performance tracking skills.
• Good time management and the ability to work to demanding deadlines.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement tools is an advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems or production management systems is an advantage.
• Prior experience in agro-processing FMCG packaging or industrial manufacturing is preferred.

Working Conditions

• This role is based primarily in a factory or plant environment with regular exposure to machinery production activity and noise.
• Shift work and extended hours may be required depending on operational needs.
• The role involves active floor supervision and may be physically demanding at times.
