The Summer Employment Opportunity Program (SEOP) provides temporary summer employment opportunities to children step-children and spouses of Mayo Clinic employees enrolled in a college degree granting program of study and is intended to help supervisors accommodate employee vacation requests when seasonal work volumes are high.
The laboratory assistant is responsible for biological (e.g. blood urine) specimen receipt identification verification processing and storage. The laboratory assistant is also responsible for performing a variety of clerical processing and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory filing stocking receiving shipments and cleaning. The laboratory assistant works with various computer information systems on a daily basis.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program**
Must be a child step-child or spouse of a current Mayo Clinic employee.
Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting program.
Must be returning to college in the fall.
Must be able to work a minimum of 10 weeks.
Must be 18 years of age or older by the start of the program
SEOP employees should not expect vacation/days-off to be approved during their commitment.
