Job Duties:

Assistant Teaching Professor position in Business beginning Fall 2026. The position is a 4/4 teaching load teaching a variety of introductory and upper-level Business classes in hybrid online and in-person modalities. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach in the MBA program and may be asked to teach at branch campuses in the surrounding communities of Wausau and Marshfield. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and have professional experience in business or management. Candidates will be expected to either conduct scholarly research or engage in professional activities related to their field to achieve retention standards and an appropriate accreditation (AACSB) faculty qualification status. Candidates will also be expected to perform service to UW-Stevens Point and the Sentry School.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction
  • Facilitates classroom online and/or laboratory instruction including assessment of student performance
  • Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
  • Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit
  • Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations
  • Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction
  • Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline

Department:

The Sentry School of Business and Economics (SSBE) is one of the largest programs at UWSP and includes four areas: accounting business administration data analytics and economics. The Sentry School has been on a very positive trajectory with enrollment growing by over 50% since 2019. In 2022 the school was named after a large gift that also paved the way for a building project to be the new home of the Sentry 2021 the Sentry School achieved a full five-year extension of accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The Sentry School has approximately 25 full time faculty positions 1100 undergraduate majors and 60 MBA students. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a leading four-year comprehensive institution located in scenic central Wisconsin. It has consistently been named one of the top public midwestern universities in the U.S. News and World Report college rankings. Compensation:

$75000 minimum based on qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree (MS MBA etc.) in a relevant field (Business Management Leadership Entrepreneurship etc.) from an AACSB or equivalently accredited college or university or other high-quality institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level in business related fields across different course modalities (in person online hybrid point-to-point).

  • Prior teaching or professional experience related to strategic management leadership entrepreneurship sport business or related fields.

  • Prior professional experience in business management or entrepreneurship applicable to the position.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research or engage in professional activities.
