As a Controller I within our Remote Operations Center (ROC) youll play a significant role in ensuring the seamless operation of our wind and solar facilities. Every day youll collaborate with Senior Controllers Field Personnel Engineering SCADA Support and other key partners to monitor performance respond to operational issues and protect both people and assets.
From analyzing substation alarms to troubleshooting wind turbine faults and solar inverter alerts youll be on the front lines of maintaining safe efficient and highquality renewable energy production. What you will do:
- Proactively monitor real-time activity performance and operational status of all wind turbines substations and solar facilities on a 24-hour basis.
- Understand and proactively identify abnormal operations and alarm conditions on wind turbines solar facilities and substations.
- Interpret and apply technical drawings procedures and other relevant documentation to resolve wind turbines solar inverters and substations operational/reliability issues.
- Coordinate document and implement all necessary remedial actions to enhance turbine availability and production while ensuring site personnel safety through effective communications.
- Ensure the safety of site personnel by communicating abnormal wind turbine conditions fault reset activities and weather-related emergencies.
- Maintain full understanding of compliance procedures and fulfill all communication requirements between the wind and solar facilities and identified compliance entities.
- Monitor and operate wind turbine and solar facilities using multiple computer applications and/or SCADA systems.
- Review wind turbine alarms and faults to determine follow up actions or reporting requirements.
- Develop revise and use procedures to determine the course of action necessary for fault resets.
- Assemble and submit shift activity reports aligned with NERC/System Operator requirements.
- Build relationships with wind facility personnel through open dialogue and site visits to ensure accurate communication of real-time events.
- Assist the Plant Managers by communicating compliance issues site operational concerns generator operating limits and market condition impacts.
- Resolve generating facility transmission issues between site personnel transmission owner/operator and the respective reliability council to ensure safety at the sites and mitigate gaps in service to end users.
- Assist with reducing turbine downtime by analyzing fault information and identifying root causes by working with the facility personnel.
- Maintain the highest degree of safety integrity respect and inclusion to contribute to a positive team environment.
Who you are:
You have:
- 3 years experience in wind turbines and/or power generation facility operations along with a College/University Degree in Electrical program or a related subject area
- Experience as a wind turbine technician a remote wind turbine control operator or combination thereof with proven knowledge of safe operation maintenance work and regulatory compliance practices
You can:
- Offer prior experience with software applications such as SCADA systems Turbine OEM software Historian databases Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform
- Show a thorough understanding of power generation principles the bulk electric system wind generating facility equipment and design maintenance operation and testing practices
- Demonstrate superb interpersonal abilities while being a strong written/verbal communicator with outstanding presentation skills
You are:
- Knowledgeable of NERC requirements for 24 x7 Control Rooms; knowledge of Control Room standard methodologies with a demonstrated ability to read electrical engineered drawings (one lines three lines schematics)
- Well versed with prior working knowledge of software and hardware applications used in the control alarm management data acquisition and performance monitoring of wind and solar generating facilities
- Able to maintain professionalism while performing reliably in a systematic manner under time sensitive/high pressure situations in addition to making critical/analytical decisions to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees officers and counsel in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions:
- The Remote Operations Center is a 24/7 operations facilitated by a 12-hour shift schedule inclusive of days nights and weekends
- Office setting mostly with potential travel to meet with internal operational contacts
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
