About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is seeking a Lecturer (Education) to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning within a major metropolitan teaching hospital environment. Based at Hornsby Kuringgai Hospital this role is embedded within a large diverse clinical setting that delivers comprehensive acute subacute and outpatient services across medicine surgery allied health community and aged care disciplines.
The Lecturer (Education) applies researchinformed and scholarly approaches to education practice contributing to highquality educational design delivery and evaluation. With a strong focus on teaching (approximately 7080% of workload) the role plays a key part in delivering outstanding learning experiences for students across a range of clinical and professional contexts.
This position makes a substantial contribution to curriculum development multidisciplinary and workintegrated learning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to contemporary pedagogical practice and show clear potential for leadership in educational design and delivery over time. Working collaboratively with academic and clinical colleagues the Lecturer (Education) will support the University and Facultys strategic education priorities while contributing to a positive inclusive and highperforming teaching environment
Your key responsibilities will be to:
design deliver and evaluate curriculumaligned units and learning experiences
deliver independent highquality teaching aligned with university standards
contribute to multidisciplinary and workintegrated learning design and delivery
apply scholarly and contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate education
contribute to administration strategic priorities and a positive workplace culture.
About you
have a clinical appointment at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital
be registered as a medical practitioner with AHPRA
hold Fellowship of a relevant professional college
demonstrate experience in teaching and learning across diverse settings
show success in designing implementing and evaluating education initiatives
engage in original research and/or scholarly activity related to education
possess strong communication planning and organisational skills
have experience supervising or mentoring students and building academic or industry relationships.
