About the opportunity
The Tasmanian School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education from within the University of Tasmania to further strengthen medical education delivery within the Tasmanian Medicine Program (BMedScMD).
This opportunity is open to current UTAS staff only with demonstrated experience working within the Tasmanian Medicine Program and/or the Tasmanian School of Medicine. The role plays a significant part in medical education for the BMedScMD with primary responsibility for the delivery coordination and oversight of Year 3 teaching and assessment including coordination of the Year 3 program based at the Hobart Clinical School (Royal Hobart Hospital). The position also contributes to relevant areas of curriculum development assessment design quality assurance and scholarly activity within the Medicine Program.
Reporting to the Hobart Clinical School Director the appointee will work collaboratively with a team of academic staff to deliver highquality medical education in Hobart. The role is strongly aligned with the School of Medicines and the University of Tasmanias commitment to social accountability with a focus on making meaningful contributions to the health and wellbeing of the Tasmanian community.
What youll do:
- Make a strong and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
- Undertake scholarly undergraduate (and if relevant postgraduate) coursework teaching of an exemplary quality.
- Increasingly provide academic leadership particularly in fostering outstanding learning and teaching.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline relevant interdisciplinary domains profession industry and/or wider community.
What were looking for:
- Completion of recognised primary medical qualification permitting registration in the State of Tasmania.
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field and/or Fellowship of a Specialist Medical College including AHPRA registration as a specialist medical practitioner.
- Experience and demonstrated achievement in University-level teaching and learning.
- A record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline profession industry (where relevant) and wider community.
- Clinical/industry/professional experience relevant to the position.

Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184076 pro-rata comprising base salary within the range of $138536 to $157330 pro-rata plus 17% superannuation.
