How you will make an impact:

The Senior Manager Division Controller for the Laboratory Equipment Division (LED) leads the divisional controllership function for a global business with revenues exceeding $1B. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate timely and compliant financial reporting across LEDs global entities while serving as a trusted business partner to division leadership.

What you will do:

  • Own the accuracy integrity and timeliness of LEDs financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Provide oversight of monthly and quarterly close activities including review of close performance materiality and accounting judgment.
  • Review and approve complex non-routine or high-risk accounting transactions.
  • Own divisional balance sheet integrity including review of key risks unusual movements and reconciliation quality.
  • Lead divisional representation letter processes and balance sheet reviews.
  • Serve as lead for internal controls and audit coordination partnering with central controllership teams to support SOX compliance audit execution and timely remediation of findings.
  • Provide accounting guidance and judgment and translate into business insights while ensuring consistent application of corporate accounting policies.
  • Oversee accounting governance for key areas including revenue inventory capital projects leases restructuring and reserves.
  • Partner with shared services site accounting teams Group Accounting and FP&A to ensure effective execution and issue resolution.
  • Serve as a member of divisional leadership forums providing insight challenge and risk perspective.
  • Identify and drive process improvements standardization and simplification across controllership activities.

This role sits at the intersection of Group standards divisional business context and site and GBS execution and will be a key member of the LPG global accounting leadership team.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.

Experience:

8 years of progressive accounting and controllership experience including leadership roles.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP internal controls and SOX requirements.
  • Experience leading or overseeing complex global financial close processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound accounting judgment and manage financial risk.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working effectively in a large matrixed global organization.
  • Experience with large ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g. SAP HFM Blackline or similar).
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and change leadership.

Travel requirements

Less than 25% domestic/international travel required.
