Job Summary
The Rapid and Rural Logistics team covers a portfolio of high-growth businesses with unique fulfillment and operational capabilities such as Sub Same Day (SSD) SSD Direct and Rural Super Rural (RSR) . Our Finance teams partner closely with our operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business drive operations excellence and make sound investment and expansion decisions with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long-term profitability for our portfolio of businesses. We experiment constantly fail fast and never stop learning.
This role will own SSD FP&A Automation and Reporting a critical pillar to support planning and weekly/monthly reporting processes. The individual will partner across multiple teams to understand consolidate and create data pipelines for planning scenarios as well as weekly/monthly bridges migrate them into quicksight to facilitate leadership reviews and to improve transparency and accountability between FP&A and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners support thoughtful decision-making and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They will collaborate with executives and business units across Amazon bring excellent verbal and written communication skills and prioritize the most impactful projects and programs to drive businesses forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity of building innovative solutions with large-scale data mining tools identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Creating financial models and plans interpreting large data sets drawing conclusions and making recommendations that deliver results drive improvements and influence leaders throughout Amazon
- Building effective business partnerships and using active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear concise and unambiguous manner
- Identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs through data and financial analysis inclusive of proactively resolving defects benchmarking key performance indicators and developing new metrics
- Implementing solutions to simplify improve automate standardize and scale processes
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
- 5 years of finance experience or Masters degree and 3 years of finance experience
- MBA or CPA
- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
