We are looking for 3 AccessAbility Advisors to join our dedicated Student Wellbeing team. This team plays a vital role in supporting students throughout their academic journey ensuring they have the right adjustments and assistance to succeed. Youll be part of a collaborative environment that values meaningful work professional growth and a strong work-life balance.

In this role you will work closely with students living with disability helping them navigate their studies by developing tailored support plans and providing case management where needed. Youll also collaborate with academic staff and university services to create an inclusive and supportive learning experience.

In this role you will:

  • Meet with students to assess their needs and develop individual support plans.
  • Provide support and advocate for students with complex support needs ensuring a seamless student experience.
  • Collaborate with academic staff course coordinators and support services to implement effective learning adjustments.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Counselling and Psychological Services and the Campus Care and Resolution Centre to provide holistic support.

These contingent positions are full time and will be primarily located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

Travel to other campuses will be required.

How will you inspire us

You will have:

  • Experience in allied health occupational therapy social work special education or similar fields.
  • Strong understanding of academic learning support disability services and mental health considerations in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise effectively with students staff and key stakeholders.

  1. Relevant degree (including but not limited to Psychology Occupational Therapy Social Work Special Education) and extensive relevant experience; or a combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of disability legislation and related issues within an educational environment.
  3. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
  4. Demonstrated understanding and experience of adaptive technology inclusive teaching principles and practices and development of students living with a disability as independent learners.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote support and maintain a safe healthy equitable diverse and respectful workplace; including responding appropriately to adverse circumstances incidents behaviours issues reports and the like.
