The North America Marketing Science team is a specialist business unit providing consulting and advanced statistics across the NIQ SA&I portfolio. We act as consultants offering statistical and technical advice contributing to client proposals and supporting research teams in the design and execution of client projects.

With a primary focus on North America your strong background in statistics and/or data science will enable you to lead and deliver complex analytic projects end-to-end. You will contribute actively to discussions with clients and research teams recommending appropriate methodologies and analytical frameworks to address clients marketing and business challenges. Strong communication skills are essential as you will regularly present analysis and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with experience applying a broad range of advanced analytics to survey research and other data sources with excellent knowledge of regression techniques (linear logistic non-linear) factor analysis mapping Knowledge of other areas such as Bayesian Networks econometric modelling segmentation and data integration is a strong plus.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated proactive creative and eager to continuously learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Deliver analytics projects to a high quality the meet internal stakeholders and clients requirements
- Maintain good working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques both current and emerging.
- Effectively manage own workload & be responsible for managing projects.
- Maintain a broad and deep understanding of quantitative research techniques to be able to mention appropriate solutions to client problems in a convincing way.
- Develop an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of techniques and software packages.
- Promote new techniques and approaches as well as continuously review external developments
- Ensure high quality of all finished documents
- Represent NIQs Marketing Science expertise at internal and external conferences and workshops
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or masters degree in a field that emphasizes the learning of modelling statistical or mathematical skills (PhD is a plus)
- 5 years of work experience in a market research agency
- Expert modelling skills and statistics knowledge (essential)
- Expert statistical skills and knowledge of econometric techniques in:
- survey/polling statistics (sampling non-response adjustments Bayesian statistics) and
- econometric modelling (program evaluation forecasting economic theory panel data) and/or
- observational causal inference (potential outcomes structural equation models instrumental variables).
- Experience in and strong interest in the following fields: brand management segmentation pricing research etc
- Expert knowledge of analytics programming languages (e.g. Python R) and the respective tool ecosystem (e.g. R-Studio Server Jupyter POSIT Workbench)
- Basic knowledge of SPSS
- Solid experience visualizing and communicating results of data analyses with the ability to think beyond the numbers while addressing real-world business problems
Desirable
- Experience using version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing environments and tooling (AWS Azure)
- Basic SQL skills with regards to working with relational databases
- Basic knowledge of programming in VBA

- Mathematical thinking strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven client-facing skills: translate and clearly communicate sophisticated analytical information to non-expert stakeholders and clients able to deliver analytic insights in an impactful and meaningful way. Good at managing researcher expectations.
