Guiding Principles

The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health human and employment services through the application of information technology (IT). OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. What You Will Do
Primary Technology: Security Monitoring
Help monitor and support security tools that protect agency systems and applications
Review basic network and application activity to identify unusual or potentially harmful behavior and escalate issues as needed
Use application security scanning tools to identify common vulnerabilities
Assist with tracking remediation of vulnerabilities and confirms fixes with guidance from senior staff
Collaborate with development and system teams to ensure security requirements are included in new or updated applications
Help review applications for compliance
Support basic risk assessment activities by gathering information reviewing scan results and confirming vulnerability details
Assists with reviewing application security settings (e.g. authentication encryption access controls) to ensure they meet established standards
Maintains documentation used for audits compliance reviews and internal reporting
Gather evidence and help identify potential root causes under the direction of incident response staff
Assist with basic containment or remediation steps
Help document incident details and lessons learned
Support communication and awareness efforts to promote secure application practices across the agency
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Location: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities - Columbus Akron or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicants home address.

The ideal candidate at minimum must have the following:
Option 1
18 months combined work exp. &/or any combination of the following: installing monitoring/maintaining configuring upgrading &/or administering/operating a single technology domain.
Option 2
Successful completion of IT Apprenticeship program at designated agency.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohios OCSEA Pay Schedule Pay Range 30. Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1 currently $25.77per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
