Non-Tenure Track Faculty Opening in the Department of Mechanical Engineering
Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineeringat Rice University located in Houston Texas seeksapplications for a non-tenure-track Associate Teaching Professor position with an anticipated start date of July 1 2026. We encourage candidates in the following areas to apply: solid mechanics fluid mechanics thermodynamics dynamical systems controls and design. Candidates with relevant experience in other areas of mechanical engineering will also be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates with prior experience in curriculum design accreditation academic advising and capstone design coordination.
Associate Teaching Professors are expected to teach undergraduate courses while also contributing to the universitys service. Applicants should have a demonstrated history of outstanding teaching and contributions to mechanical curricula advising and accreditation activities showing potential as and emerging pedagogical mentor. They should be committed to a career path that includes both classroom instruction and service to the department school and university with a focus on becoming pedagogical leaders in their field.
The successful candidate must have a strong dedication to teaching advising and mentoring undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds.
